Pipes and Drums

Learning the Bagpipes

Whether an experienced piper or someone who can barely read music, the 79th Highlander's Pipes and Drum Band is open to everyone.  As a learning band we welcome all who are interested in learning.  The band meets most Sundays from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Kiowa Masonic Lodge 304 Pawnee St. Kiowa, CO 80117.  Lessons focus on the fundamentals of playing bagpipes along with learning the core tunes, drill and ceremony.

Pipes and Drum Band

The 79th boasts a learning pipes and drum band that performs at a variety of events in the Colorado area, to include the Colorado Springs St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Elizabeth Celtic Festival.  The Band is available for events, please contact us for availability and pricing.

Jim DeGeorge III currently serve as the pipe major.  Additionally, Mr. DeGeorge is the State Bagpiper for Colorado
